Targets like lacazette and bacca were leaked to the owners pet media mates to stir up excitement then it all turned to dust
I'm sensing a pattern here....

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
It's 'you're' as in 'you are' and feel free to explain how I'm spouting bollocks.

I didn't realise we could have signed Lacazette last season? Was that a done deal that we pulled out of then? He'd probably never even heard of us let alone thought about signing for us.

As for Snodgrass being a replacement for Payet, have a day off. Payet was so fucking unbelievable for us he pretty much couldn't be replaced. Snodgrass was available and we signed him. Looks like an error but it's always easy to say that in hindsight.

The owners were also responsible for bringing Payet in by the way.

Well said though. Cracking argument!

Bang on mate

The bit I don't get is that we go through the charade of negociation and when it's agreed, the manager backs off- total bollox on so many levels

It all smells of a village fete with monkeys in fancy dress playing glockenspiels whilst leading the prettiest goat parade

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
usual promises until season tickets sold then excuses
we stalled at buying lacazette last season and now he has doubled in value
a lot of people put up with the bull last season and renewed but another bang average year will be enough for a lot of punters
we are the club that replaced payet with snodgrass....says it all

---------------

1) We never stalled at buying Lacazette last season at all. He was never going to come to us. We showed an interest and he showed us no interest whatsoever. For obvious reasons.

2) We never replaced Payet with Snodgrass. We sold Payet through having no choice and we bought Snodgrass during the same transfer window. How was Snodgrass ever a direct replacement for someone like Payet?

Why do people talk so much shit and twist so many things on here? Our owners can be absolute pricks at times but the amount of bollocks spouted on here is fucking ricidulous.

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
The fact is ..we should have targeted who we needed and were realistically likely to bring in way back.
There is no excuses here...it's just gross incompetence from the biggest bunch of cunts that have ever run this club.

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
They did the same last year, mucked about until the end and came up with rubbish. I thought they would have learned from that. We all know we are not going to get every player but work you way through a list, making decent offers, because if you don't pay it someone else will, if they don't want to come move on. Don't spend all summer saying you are after the better players, making them and their club derisory offers, then shopping in the bargain basement when surprise surprise none of your list want to come.

West Ham – Wilfred Ndidi Convinced Iheanacho To Move To Leicester City From Man City
July 7, 2017 Own Goal Nigeria

Kelechi Iheanacho imminent transfer to Leicester City from Manchester City wouldn’t have been possible if not for the intervention of his Nigeria national team close friend Wilfred Ndidi.

Ndidi and Iheanacho are very close right from when their path first crossed in the camp of the Nigeria U17 team in 2013, before circumstances ruled Ndidi ‎out of the tournament while Iheanacho went on to become the star of the Championship.

However the duo were were once again back to their friendship of old at the camp of the Nigeria U-20 team in 2014, a bond which they maintained even when they made the step up to the senior national team of Nigeria.

A West Ham source said Iheanacho’s eagerness to be close to Ndidi was the trump card for the Foxes, who were able to complete the deal for the striker ahead of the Hammers who have been on his trail for six weeks.

Iheanacho had a chat with Ndidi before making up his mind about joining him at Leicester City and sources close to the player revealed he walked out of a potential move to West Ham and not the other way round like some have speculated.

Joey
I think your right they do fuck about to much when they go for the next tier but not when they go for the big boys they offered the goon and Chelsea and the players but neither has still signed
I think they fancied iheanhacho as punt as back up to giroud but now he's not coming bilic doesn't fancy him to start week in week out....not sure I'd stick my job on him to do the business's week in week out
Tbf they can't win they get slaughtered for letting that kid sign for Everton but imagine the stick they'd of got if we'd signed him for nearly 8mil then he definitely can't play for a year then he still might not get a work permit at all
It's all a bit embarrassing if you ask me

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
Maybe we could try something really crazy like scouting for some talent? Everyone keeps banging on about 15-20 goal a season strikers but Realistically there's usually only 4 or 5 players who manage that. We don't even get one to double figures

Transfer fees and wages are through the roof now as everyone knows premier league clubs are cash cows for milking. So £20m these days gets you ayew. Fucking Walters is 33 and going for £3m. Wasn't that long ago a player 32+ was worthless. See also fonte

So you either play the game like everyone else and get someone in the right mould of player you want at the current market value or you do what we're doing and just fuck about pretending ding to join in when we have no intention of following through. It's pathetic

Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
Norf - fair dues mate. They do fuck around though - this thing with ineacho - it's a shambles. Have a list of 5, work your way down. It appears they can't even agree on that. I understand they won't get them all, but something is properly wrong with identifying and getting targets. Sometimes you have to overpay and do it quickly. These cunts fuck about far too much.

Norflundon 9:58 Fri Jul 7
Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
Joey I'm not reall a fan of the board to say the least so I'm not sticking up for them for the sake of it but they have done exactly what you are saying but that doesn't gauantee a deal will go through
But I can tell you for a FACT they did that and about 10 days ago they thought Giroud was a done deal but this is what happens the top players know they are in demand and they just won't sign that quickly as they know others will come knocking and the wages will go up it's not as simple as your making out because there are so many other factors involved, we made Batshuyi our number one target agreed a price and spoken to the player with a intimation that he's interested but now Lukaku has done a U turn that's fucked us unless Chelsea can sign somebody else very quickly

What your asking can be done with the next tier of players the likes of the players that Everton have signed but I hadn't heard of any of them bar Pickford a month ago and watching him for the U21's for the first time he looked fucking pony

Joey Nutmeg 9:40 Fri Jul 7
Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
Norf - sorry mate, can't agree with all that. We've been trying to sign a decent striker for two years. The board and Slav are just inept. They need to get their cash out and get their shit together. Agree on a target, pay the asking price and wages and not obsess about a 'bargain'.

stepney hammer 9:32 Fri Jul 7
Re: Kelechi Iheanacho about to sign?
We were willing to offer £150k a week to a well past his best Carlos Tevez last year according to Sullivan. Now £140k is too much for a proven goalscorer, who even after not having his best season, still scored more than any of our forwards. Still Chelsea are being linked with him now, so I dare say as soon as their bid is confirmed we'll offer the £140k wedge safe in the knowledge it will get turned down.

As for Iheanacho, I'd sooner we took a chance on him than go for a cheap / shit option like Andre Gray. Dare say some cunt from the Turkish league that Bilic rates will be snapped up too.

Jesus Christ you talk some crap....

Hernandez wants 140k a wee do you honestly think he's worth that he svored13 Fucking goals last season even Kane isn't in that much!!!
Iheanachos fee isn't to height the bloke hasn't scored since fucking Boxing Day I can see why bilic doesn't fancy him as a frontline first choice striker
Modeste....give me a fucking break I bet you'd never heard of him two weeks ago now your pissing your pants why we haven't signed him....it's embarrassing how pathetic our fans have become
It's not easy to get a top end striker especially when your not in Echampions league look at last season we offered 40mil for lacazette and 30mil for Bacca and still couldn't landed anyone
Seems like you lot just want us to sign players and don't actually give a fuck if they're any good
